FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

August 3, 2012

Yesterday, August 2, 2012, Agents of the Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad (CMANS), conducted a drug operation at the Peaks Apartments in Acworth.

The operation started as CMANS agents executed a search warrant at one of the apartments.  Agents arrested Charles Edward Elliot (37) of Acworth for Possession of Crack Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Richard Darrin Hudson (46) of Lithonia for Sale of Cocaine, and Germaine Sharif Fludd (37) of Acworth on charges of Possession of Marijuana and Sale of Cocaine.

After serving the warrant, CMANS agents and Cherokee Sheriff’s Office uniformed deputies saw a vehicle pull into the apartment complex.  The two men in the car were not residents of the apartment complex.  When the deputies and CMANS agents approached they saw Alexander Anthony Verucci (30) of Marietta with a revolver concealed under his leg. Verrucci and his companion, Keith Adam Vance, Jr. (30) of Dallas, Georgia, were subsequently arrested and when searched a variety of drugs were located on them or in the car.  Verrucci was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II and a Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of Marijuana.  Vance was arrested for Possession of Marijuana.
